If you are like me then you monitor multiple cryptocurrencies in your investment portfolio. It can get annoying to go back and forth to Coinmarketcap.com in order to find out the value of portfolio. In this video I will show you how to import the live data to your excel

Without an effective trading strategy, there is no way you can make money in this business. I have personally used this before. But i loose my money trading on this. Now i'm satisfied with *FIRST MILLION ROAD*.

FINALLY my goodness I searched everywhere... someone who doesn't just assume everything works. All the JSON tutorials were not working because they were trying to use Excel 2016 which can import live JSON data. they were using the api URL that 2013 apparently can't handle. Once you showed me that you can just do coinmarketcap.com as the URL it worked.... much thanks man

Thanks brother! I've wasted soo much of my damn time flicking back and forward to check the value of my portfolio with my spreadsheet. Most deserved like I have given for months :D

Thank you for your clear explanation, question though. When I try to multiply the amount of a currency with the price I get the #VALUE! error. It doesn't recognise the price of the currency as a number. How could I change that?

Try formatting the cells to a currency? Only thing that comes to mind.
Had the same issue. The problem is the $ mark that coinmarketcap adds. Therefor excel thinks it's text. And sorry my excel is not in english so I can't give you the excact names of the functions that I am using. But click on a coins price in the sheet. Go to queries, go to edit which should open a new window in excel where you should be able to see your table. Press a coin price, and go to "replace values" Put in $ as the thing you want to replace, and you can leave the next one blank. Now it's just numbers which excel will accept

Thanks Jerry for responding.  I forgot to mention I'm on a Mac as well. Did download Power Query and tried running it, but no luck. It is not supported on OS according to Microsoft. Guess i have to stick to Google sheets, that works like a dream. Just not comfortable with it online thats all.

This is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. What are your thoughts on Bitcoin Cash

Check out eos.io. The blockchain will go live in June 2018 and is reported to be capable of handling up to 100,000 transactions per second and with little or no fees. The project was started by Dan Larimer, creator of the Bitshares and Steem projects, two of the most highly successful crypto projects. So there is a great deal of credibility in the claims he's making. EOS is already up by over 15X in the past 3 months and should climb steadily over the next 12 months.

What's EOS
PongGod (11 months ago)
Not too late to jump on the EOS train. It's going places in 2018!

no worries :) Until last week I didnt really care much for BCH. I think it is a competitor to Litecoin because both of them are forks of the bitcoin block chain that offer faster transactions and lower fees. i prefer the dev team in litecoin and I think they are doing more innovative things.
