Pioneer KRP-500M Phosphor Glow (With Reset Instructions for 500M/Pro 101FD)

00:51
*Reset instructions for used 500Ms and Pro 101FDs in the comments* Not glowing blacks here more glowing colors ;) Im impressed every time i put up the 500M and see the punch/bit detph in the colors. Particularly skintones that have an natural look that no other tv can deliver. Its probably because of the high and narrow spectra energy for red color that makes skintones more realistic No tv today can match the color glow from these natural glowing Phosphor pixels. The light from todays tvs are artificially created compared to natural glowing material on these Plasma tvs. Thats whats make the diference. Its like comparing the light from an Incandescent bulb lamp to an typical LED lamp. Plasma vs LCD/OLED One reason that Red and also Green color has that special glow to them can be seen from the SPD (Spectral Power Distirbution) http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/UzRvm.jpg The high spikes for both Green and Red makes the difference. The more narrow the spike is the more distinct the colors are. And the higher the spike is (radiation) the more contrast and pop goes to that color. as an example here is the SPD from an WRGB OLED. http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/LXcAF.jpg green and red are one big broad color mess. Only Blue color has an individual cone as it should be. this is why colors looks flat and muted on these sets. the energy is too low and the cones are not distinct which gives colors a more diffuse look with light leakage. Anyway if you see an 500M for sale go and get it right away. its the peak performance from tvs when they where real tvs. Some high quality photos here http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/500M_1.jpg http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/500m_Civil%20War.jpg http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/500M_Contrast.jpg http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/Carbon_4.jpg http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/Carbon_3.jpg 100% Uniformity with every set that shipped out to the customers. Panel lottery was not invented yet ;) No Banding/Vignetting near black No Colortints on whites No Colorshifts off axis http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/KRP-500M%20100%25%20White.jpg http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/KRP-500M%205%25.jpg 500M monitor information http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/pioneer_krp-500m_pro-101fd_krp-600m_pro-141fd_9th_generation_plasma_training_monitor.pdf in October next month this tv is exactly 10 years old http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/20180910_000545.jpg 11K operating Hours as for now and a new PSU so i expecting it to hold for atleast 10 more years.

Cloning Kuro: How Sharp resurrected Pioneer's iconic Elite

01:53
Pioneer last set the high bar for display quality with its famed Kuro Elite plasmas three years ago before killing the line off, and to many enthusiasts, nothing since then has surpassed it. So when Sharp announced this August that it would resurrect the Elite name for a series of LED-backlit LCDs displays, skeptics naturally raised eyebrows. But it wasn't a resurrection in name alone. As Sharp reps explained to us at CEDIA 2011, the new Elite TVs are actually the result of a two-year collaboration between both companies that leaves the new set with many of the same inky black fingerprints that made the Kuro an enthusiast favorite. We'll have to wait for side-by-side comparisons to see whether the new Elites really deliver on Sharp's claims that they exceed the old Kuro Elite, but we're confident these are some pretty remarkable displays either way.
